Nick Barraclough.

Product manager. Currently based in Denver, USA.

PM at Nylas. Came up through customer success and product marketing. Three things on my mind every time we ship: who it's for, what we're solving, and how we'll sell it.

Building & launching new things at Nylas. Tinkering on the side projects below on weekends. Professional hype guy.

Projects

  • availability availability.barraclough.nz ↗

My weekly availability, pulled from both my work and personal calendars. New meetings book to my personal calendar so work events stay private. Built on the Nylas Calendar API. Password-protected, so you'll have to ask.

    github repo ↗
  • plumber plumber.barraclough.nz ↗

A demo to familiarise myself with WorkOS, MCP, and the Gmail and Google Calendar APIs. The idea: pair your agent with WorkOS Pipes for a fully auditable trail of every MCP request touching your sensitive data.

    github repo ↗
  • notebook private

An internal platform for Nylas folks to record, transcribe, and analyse their meetings. Built on the Nylas Notetaker, Calendar, and Email APIs. Automatically sent Notetakers to your calls and kept a library of every recording.

    github repo ↗
  • scout private

Multi-tenant platform for research agents that scrape the marketing sites for your prospects and customers and positions upsells, cross-sells, and new business messaging and positioning for your salespeople to sell more. Built with Firecrawl, Inngest, and the Anthropic API.

Work

  • Nylas

    2021–present

    The infrastructure that powers communications.

Joined in customer success, then product marketing, now product. Launched the Notetaker API and ExtractAI. Ran pricing & packaging. Shipped many other things along the way. All on a platform serving tens of thousands of developers and millions of their users.

    • Product Manager Dec 2024–present
    • Product Marketing Manager Dec 2023–Apr 2025
    • Lead Customer Success Manager Sep 2022–Dec 2023
    • Senior Customer Success Manager Sep 2021–Sep 2022
  • Figured

    2018–2021

Farm financial management software for farmers and their accountants.

Customer success at an agritech startup. Looked after accountants across APAC from Auckland, then the UK and Ireland from London. First role where I owned the whole lifecycle, sale to renewal. Also when I started noticing how much each customer call traced back to product decisions.

    • Partner Success Manager, EMEA Jan 2020–Aug 2021
    • Customer Success Manager, APAC May 2018–Jan 2020
  • Preno

    2016–2018

Cloud-based property management software for independent hotels.

Small team, so the AE role meant a lot more than sales. Onboarding, implementation, support, all of it. First time I sat with real users trying to use software, and noticed how much of their experience was decided long before they ever saw a demo.

    • Account Executive May 2016–May 2018

How I think about product

  1. 01

Get clear on three things before building: who it's for, what we're solving, and how we'll sell it.

  2. 02

Pricing is part of the product.

  3. 03

If a feature's hard to explain, it'll be hard to use, and harder to sell.

  4. 04

Ship to learn. Get the minimum lovable product into real hands fast. You only really learn once it's out there.
